On the 5th of May I was in Maastricht with a friend. He invited me to just go out and leave Amsterdam. I am glad I did for that day.
Maastricht is one of the old Dutch cities which started as a Roman settlement and later grew due its convenient location. The thing I like about Maastricht is the same thing that fascinates me in old and mostly untainted cities. Sometimes it seems as if time stood still.
The photos above are a small selection. The weather that day was sunny and dry. The view in and over the city was exceptional.
Like other old cities, a walk through the city reveals a lot. Too bad we were only there for a day.
