For some time now I have been thinking about a post like this. What moves me to do so is because I am becoming older and I am becoming more aware of what I want to achieve in life. I am 26 now. After years of various jobs, hobbies and a few attempted studies I have found what I really want to do for the coming years.
This also affects what I write for the blog. From the start I tried to bring more context to a world of “TL;DR”, “ctrl-c & ctrl-v” and “click-click beats going to the library.” The “too long; didn’t read” and “copy-paste” options combined with “click-click…” do not make a person able to learn and understand more. Access nowadays is quicker but processing the information is still slow in general.
There are two things that give me a reason to get up every morning. The first thing is to learn something new. I value curiosity as it broadens the horizon of life. The second thing is the experience of many little things that make life what it is. The feeling of sunlight and wind or a fresh coffee while thinking or conversing with someone else. I should drink less coffee though.
My Personal Mission
To add context in a world where context is sometimes missing.
My Personal Vision
In the future I expect to be a teacher or researcher in discipline that genuinely interests me.
I will focus on more in-depth posts and photography as much as possible. Whatever I write and post I have to find it interesting to read again. I measure the texts and books in several media by the same standards. I tend to read my favourite books twice.
There are some other things I am working on that I might connect to the blog. It all depends on whether the content and media can mix and match. A blog and Twitter are something I am considering. The best thing about blogging in my experience is actually quite basic, namely creating content.
To make something yourself and then present it to others is always a challenge for me. Every new draft hinges on “will it be good enough?” and that applies to many things I do.
Blogging is one of the most rewarding hobbies I have ever started, that is certain.
