The Banksy exhibition in Amsterdam’s Beurs van Berlage.
There is a building in Amsterdam called the “Beurs van Berlage.” It is always in sight, always there and you often pass it unless you notice that something interesting is going on. Well I read in the newspaper about the Banksy exhibition there and was 50/50 about going there. Then I had an hour to spare and knowing they have more space than MoCo I went in any way.
It was a good thing I did. The extra space of the Beurs van Berlage allows for bigger works of Banksy’s art. Here are some first highlights.
The exhibition is in the basement.
Even money can be a canvas…
Banksy has a thing for rats. In fact they symbolise his alternative methods for his art…
This collage is something else…
Yes, even Pulp Fiction. Too funny…
“Planet of the Apes” is definitely an influence.
Money as a canvas…
Very interesting ideas.
Part of a collage. Made me chuckle…
A sculptor immortalised Banksy’s much loved street rat…
Not much to say. One of my favourites. Makes me chuckle…
Andy Warhol portrayed Marilyn Monroe. Banksy portrayed Kate Moss…
