On the fifth of November Amsterdam was busy…

On the 5th of November we had Museumnacht 2016 in Amsterdam. It is a special event where all kinds of people come together. Museumnacht in English “museum night” is the night when museums are open from 7 P.M. to 2 A.M. to celebrate art and culture. It is the night when a museum can become a disco for the party people yet still display art for the art minded folk. I started in the Rijksmuseum.

He made colours talk emotion and life…

My visit that night was focused on Rembrandt, Vermeer and Van Gogh. Rembrandt was the master of nuance. Vermeer painted light and depicted the ordinary things of life as extraordinary. Van Gogh, well he gave colours a voice that spoke to the heart. Make of that what you will as Van Gogh was and is unique.
