A Walk in Amsterdam

For those who recognise the streets on the photos, I started at Leidseplein and walked from there to the bridge at Koningsplein from where I followed the Singelgracht. The beauty of the city for me lies not in what makes the city appealing. The beauty of Amsterdam for me lies in the little things that often go unnoticed yet are strangely typical for living in Amsterdam.

In the selection there are ten photos which highlight things which might look plain at first sight. When you have walked around in the city long enough all these things combined are simply aspects of life. Amsterdam is actually an expanded village which grew into a city which now includes a large region under Gemeente Amsterdam. Trade and culture once changed this swampy village into a Western metropolis.

This year we have a very good summer. In Amsterdam the sunlight illuminates everything like a giant spot light…

      The theme on this blog is called “Suits” which I customised a bit. I also removed some widgets as they were useless.

      I suggest you use Bing, the windows search engine. I just tested the Bing and it is able to find my blog without problems, no loading problems. I personally advise you to leave Internet Explorer in default settings for what it is, set Bing as home and start page. Put frequently visited and favourite websites in “favourites” or folders accessible via folders in the favourite bar below the search bar, done. Less hassle, less interfering processes and less clicking that leads to “fuck me, I clicked on the wrong link and now what?”

      I assume you have a good internet connection here. I have a good internet connection and sometimes the Word Press servers appear to lag a bit, not often.
